I have had the luxury of re-connecting with two beautiful women aka dear friends this past week and it amazes me when you just pick up where you left off from 10-15 years ago.  That is true friendship and sisterhood to me...easy, natural, unscripted or forced...

Invest in your GOALS!




Investing in Your Goals

Question:  what time is the best time to set a goal?
Answer:  Anytime!!!!!... 
There is something about "new beginnings", "a fresh start" or even just hitting the "reset" button that can fuel so much enthusiasm...yet the key is to keep that enthusiasm alive until that goal achieved.

I have developed my own personal Goal Setting Model called...INVEST...when you set a goal I believe that it must have certain components and/or personal elements that I call "Investments" .  I have given a brief description of each element I think is important to this Model and questions to help you be clear on your own personal goal setting path.

  • Inward:  is it coming from "Within"?...sometimes an external drive towards a goal can be too "cosmetic", easily disposable and less authentic to who you really are.
  • New:  is it a New goal or do you still have some unfinished business from a previous goal?  You would be surprised how hitting the "Reset-Recommit" button can bring a feeling of "New and Improved". 
  • Visual:  can you see it?  When you close your eyes can you see yourself accomplishing this goal?  A picture is worth a thousand words.  
  • Emotional:  when you visualize your goal, does it feel right?  Is it important to you and are you excited about it?
  • Serious:  Are you serious about your goal?  How serious you are will directly influence your commitment to your goal and impact your outcome.  
  • Timeline:  what is an APPROPRIATE amount of time to accomplish this goal?  Be fair and realistic to your self and entertain any events or things that may interrupt your pace towards your goal...make a list and be prepared for alternate "routes"...Don't let anything get in your way!

I am loving my morning shakes and I thought I would share my recipe...

In my magic bullet,which I love, I blend the following...(so easy which I love even more)...

  • 1/2 C frozen peaches, pineapple, mango and strawberries 
  • 1/2 C frozen blue berries
  • 1 whole med banana
  • 1 Tbsp ground chia/flax seeds
  • 1/2 C coconut H20
  • 1/2 C almond milk
  • 2 C raw baby spinach
  • 1/2 C non fat greek yogurt
  • H20
  • ......Blend and enjoy..................Delicious right?

New Day New Week

Good day today...

Although I do have to say it is frustrating to have a hip that hurts all the time but hey...pain is gain in a different way.  
Anyways I am so excited to start teaching spin class at 6pm March 21rst...Friday nights until end of May at Motivations...I have MISSED teaching soooooooo much and am so pumped to motivate and push out some good rides for the spinners...can't wait to make a killer playlist to boot...


March 3rd WO summary:

  • spin cardio 47min
  • 513 cal
  • in zone 45min
  • avg BPM 139, Max 163 BPM 
loving my post workout shakes too...
fruit, almond milk, coconut water, greek yogurt, spinach and ground chia and flaxseeds.
